Dr. R. Prabhakar,
Principal, CIT inaugurated the seminar and delivered the
presidential address. Prof. E. Ramasamy, Administrative officer
and HOD of Chemical Engineering Department, CIT, the guest of
honour addressed the participants on effective marketing
strategies. This was followed by key note address delivered by Mr.
A. Sivakumaran, GM - Coca-cola.
Emerging Trends in Marketing and Corporate Culture
Mr. Sivakumaran,
emphasized the importance of innovation in sustaining the growt h and
competitive advantage
of a product within its industry. He compared various new products
introductions across the beverage industry and used such case studies
as coca-cola and Tropicana to reinforce the importance of
"innovation" to any product business model.
This program helped the students to learn how to leverage the business
advantages of diversity and meet the challenges of an increasing
complex industry. He focused on emerging trends and changing
demographics, developing leader competencies to address today's
business reality and help oneself to develop an action plan to
implement at his property.
This program explores why public relations are so much more powerful
than other forms of advertising and promotion and also outlines the
techniques for building successful public relation program.
It helped the participants to know how to position a company as the
'expert' and garner extensive media coverage without wasting money on
ineffective and costly advertising.

Prof. Sreekumar enlightened the students on
improving communication skills, an important aspect of career
development for an engineer. The purpose of this seminar was to
educate the students how to enhance the skills that can result in an

orders, margin accounts and after hours trading and much more.
