10th February 2006 at 9.00 am by the Chief Guest Dr.
M.Chidambaram, Director, National Institute of Technology,
Tiruchirapalli and addressed the gathering about the
fundamentals and developments in control systems at par with
modern flexible technology. He also mentioned that educational
institutions should keep the environment ready for industries in
tune with the latest developments. Dr. S.R.K.Prasad, Director,
Coimbatore Institute of Technology stressed the need of
automation in industries to meet out the global standards. He
urged the academics, practicing engineers and research scientists
to think towards cutting edge technologies needed to shape the
modern industrial world.

There were three key note
addresses by the eminent people from academia and industry. Dr.
Kannan Moudgalya, Professor, Indian Institute of Technology,
Mumbai addressed on the topic “Digital
Controller: Design them form scratch”.
Dr. C.P.Ravikumar, Senior Technologist, Texas Instruments,
Bangalore focused on “New
trends in ASIC design”.
Dr. V.Radhakrishnan, Director – Research, Amritha Deemed
University delivered the keynote address on “Automation
– Its philosophy and its implications”.
A panel discussion was conducted
on 10th February 2006 between 5.30 to 7.30 pm. based on
the theme “Mile stones and challen ges in Intelligent Control”,
Chaired by Dr. S. R. K. Prasad, Director and Dr. R. Prabhakar Principal, Coimbatore Institute of Technology, Coimbatore, with the eminent personalities Dr. M. Chidambaram,
Director, National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirapallai,
Dr. Kannan Moudgalya, Professor, Indian Institute of
Technology, Mumbai, Dr. S. Subramanyan, Former Vice
